We’re committed to creating a safe, positive, and fun environment for every family involved in Arlington Softball Baseball League (ASBL). As part of that commitment, we want to make sure you understand how your child’s information is collected, used, and protected—especially when using our online registration and communication platforms powered by Praxis Sports.

Because some of our players are under the age of 13, we comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), which requires parental consent before collecting personal information from children under 13.

Who This Applies To

This policy applies to all parents or legal guardians registering children under 13 years old to participate in ASBL activities, and to any adult using Praxis Sports platforms on behalf of a child.

What You Need to Know

1. Parental Consent is Required
Children under 13 cannot create their own Praxis Sports account. A parent or guardian must create and manage the account, approve participation, and provide required information.

Consent is usually given in one of two ways:

When a parent registers their child for ASBL through the Praxis Sports platform.
When a parent accepts an email invitation to complete or confirm registration on behalf of their child.

2. Information We Collect
When registering your child, you may be asked to provide:

Name, birthdate, and contact info
Emergency contact and medical details
Team or league preferences
Optional info like photos, videos, height, or weight for player profiles

This information helps us create player rosters, organize teams, and keep your child safe and informed during the season.

3. How This Information Is Used
Information collected is used for:

Registration and roster placement
Team communication (via email or text)
Game scheduling and league notifications
Processing payments (if applicable)

We do not sell or share your child’s personal information with third-party advertisers or marketers.

Your Rights as a Parent or Guardian

You can:

View or edit your child’s profile at any time
Disable notifications or change contact preferences
Request deletion of your child’s information
Withdraw consent and deactivate your child’s account

Online Safety & Tracking

While your child is using the Praxis Sports platform (e.g., checking schedules or communicating with a coach), certain data such as pages visited and login duration may be recorded. This helps us improve the experience and keep the platform secure.

Some partner services used within Praxis Sports may also use cookies or tracking tools. These do not access or share personal information.

Keeping Information Secure

ASBL and Praxis Sports use modern security practices to protect all personal data. While no system is 100% secure, we’re committed to protecting your family’s information and will notify you of any potential data breaches in accordance with applicable laws.

We may update this policy from time to time. If major changes occur, we’ll notify you directly and ask for your updated consent where necessary.
